Social Diversity/Awareness Curriculum
Overview:
To help students recognize that socially diverse environments bring value to the workplace, and each of us plays a part in creating such an environment.
Core Traits:
Recognizes that internal diversity means seeing and valuing one's own unique qualities and contributions, including the traits we are born with, no matter where we come from, how we look, or what we believe in, and extending that value to others.
Able to share one's own unique background, experiences, and cultural knowledge. Recognizes how different experiences and circumstances help define each person's external identity.
Understands how differences in workplace roles, experiences, size of company, mission, and values create workplace diversity.
Advocates for diversity by posing thoughtful questions, while actively fostering workplace change through respectful modeling of inclusive behaviors.
